The Face of Evil...

...and I don't say that lightly. Just looking at his face is enough to feel deep in my spirit that there is nothing of God behind those eyes.

In his latest remarks the facade that calls itself Ahmadinejad said,

"I wish all the Christians a very happy new year and I wish to ask them a question as well,"

Okay, President Ahmadinejad, since you were reasonably polite and solicitous, fire away!

"My one question from [sic] the Christians is: What would Jesus do if he were present in the world today? What would he do before some of the oppressive powers of the world who are in fact residing in Christian countries? Which powers would he revive and which of them would he destroy? ...If Jesus were present today, who would be facing him and who would be following him?"

Wow! What a series of questions!

Firstly, you assume falsely that this and other non-Muslim nations are Christian nations. But fine.

Secondly, as you and yours don't view Jesus in the same light as Christians, it's clear your remaining questions reveal cunning, if shoddy, logic. No Muslim nation would stand with the Jesus as described in the Bible. But then neither will a lot of those nations you refer to as 'Christian'. Sad, but true.

But what I find most disturbing about your prophetic views, sir, is your belief that your own Mahdi will come and reign on earth for seven years before bringing about the final judgment and the end of the world. The only figure in scripture, sir, that reigns for seven years before a supposed 'final' judgment is the Antichrist? Oh, and the world will never end-- go through some mighty big changes and upheavals, yes! But end? Not hardly. The end of the world is not anywhere near nigh; it's not in the same ballpark, on the same page or even in the same book.

It's truly sad, sir, that your people have fallen for the lies of the enemy; co-opting the proven and genuine prophecies of God for himself. Satan has always been a liar; he knows nothing else. Repent sir. Repent before your Mahdi comes, for surely on that day, the Bride of Christ will be gone, and the real God of Heaven will cause a strong delusion to settle over the world, so that everyone should believe a lie. Accept the Mahdi's mark and your fate will be forever sealed, for there is no repentance or forgiveness after receiving that mark.

But then, judging from what I see behind that man's eyes, it may well be pointless to ask Ahmadinejad to repent, except that it's the right and Godly thing to do.

The man's a nutcase. And the recent holocaust denial conference (where David Duke among others spoke) was a sham and a disgrace. But he is not as powerful as we make him out to be. His influence in Iran is waning, as evidenced in recent elections and protests. He is subordinate to, and unpopular with, Iran's supreme leader.

So there is hope that Iran will move away from this kind of poisonous rhetoric when this guy is out of there. In the meantime, he draws strength from conflicts with the west, and is damaged when attention is turned to what is going on domestically.

IF Jesus were to appear, he'd be carrying a sword, and facing the Sons of the East. Our saviour descends from Heaven. Theirs rises from a pit.

No, Mr. President, your point is not well-taken.
