How's it Look in Your Neck of the Woods?

I just filled the tank with regular unleaded at $2.249 per gallon.

It's funny you should post this. I've been thinking about trying to start a trend for bloggers to post a photo of their local gas-merchants' signs with the current price. I haven't because of my not having a means to download photos from my own camera recently.

I paid $2.18 per gallon a few days ago.

$2.19 in Brooksville.

I have seen it as cheap as $2.22 in Tampa, but it generally runs a little higher there than it does out here in the woods.

Prices here in Dothan are obviously much higher if I'm ecstatic about $2.24. Last week the cheapest gas around was $2.30 at a little out-of-the-way father and son convenience store. Everywhere else in town had prices between $2.47 and $2.60. There's a lot of oil companies in town so something's up if gas is not cheaper here than it is.

Here's an easily traced prediction: Gas prices will be back up close to $3/gallon by the end of the year (or by Jan/Feb 2007 at the latest).

After the election.

Feel free to flaunt this in my face if I'm wrong.

Another guarantee: Gas prices WILL go back up to $3/gallon. And go on to $4/gallon, $5...$10. It's the law of the Market. Limited resources + high demand = high prices.

$1.98 in my neck of the woods! :D

Dan, I agree with you on this one! I think that our current low prices are the result of both the more lax "winter blends," coupled with the find of the oil deposit in the Gulf; the "Saudis" are trying to snap us back into apathy!

Unless we get off this oil teat, we will see prices continue to rise!

"Dan, I agree with you on this one!"

I'd like to change my position, then...
