The Most Dangerous Life to Own in America...

...Is that of a Chicken! More news from the front lines...

"Feeder Bands" spiraling out from Hurricane Katrina have destroyed aproximately 15 chicken houses in Carroll County, Georgia. Many other structures were similarly affected. While I sympathize with those persons summarily affected, at the same time I can't help but think of the cost in poultry lives lost. Assuming a single house can house 10,000 birds, we're talking 150,000 chickens dead or homeless. The poultry-specific carnage in America continues, with no end in sight. And I am still not eating chicken.

----
Of course this is nothing compared to the toll of human life lost, and threatened by Katrina-- 10 lives lost thus far, but this post, and those linked below, are offered light-heartedly. My prayers go out to the victims of this very powerful storm.
